Double chocolate banana muffins
The chocolate banana muffins are perfect for the weekend! Especially when you are a chocolate lover. The muffins are sugar-free and dairy-free as well! For sure these muffins are way healthier than the processed chocolate chip muffins you can buy in the stores, cafes and take-out restaurants.

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees celsius)
  2. Mash the bananas with a fork
  3. Put the eggs and bananas in a mixing bowl and whip/mix them (I used my KitchenAid).
  4. In the meantime, measure and combine the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda, cacao powder, cinnamon and salt) in a separate bowl, excluding the chocolate chips
  5. Add the dry mixture to the egg banana mixture and mix well
  6. After it is all combined add the milk and maple syrup per tbsp (check if batter is ok: not too dry/ liquid)
  7. In the end, add the chocolate chips and fold them in with a spoon. But leave about 20-24 chips on the side
  8. Grease a muffin pan and pour batter in each muffin cup until filled 3/4 of each cup (10 to 12 in total)
  9. Put the left-over chocolate chips on top of each muffin (about 2 per muffin)
  10. Bake the muffins in the middle of the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden and firm to touch
  11. Take it out the oven and let it cool before taking them out
  12. Remove from pan after about 5-10 minutes, and then cool down further till completely cooled down
  13. I put them in the fridge for a while to better harden the chocolate chips
  14. Serve the muffins with a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy this snack in between meals!

    Halloo…can I subtitute the maple syrup with honey instead??
